Inspiration

Stained Glass was my main inspiration as I admired how the colors reflect off each other. Color theory, which plays a big part into how colors mix, I was inspired to \create different colors that cohesively fit together.
Ideation Sketches

While exploring these sketches I took note of form and began trying to collect cohesive characteristics with each chess piece. I also began to take note on materiality and began brainstorming what pieces I wanted to cast
Final Ideations

Finalizing my sketches really gave me an insight on into what exactly my forms encapsulated. Along with creating hierarchy. I began to adjust sizes accordingly.
Casting

The first part to begin casting was creating a mold over my master piece. During this process I got to grasp an understanding of how mass production is produced which is critical in the industrial design world.
Low and High Fidelity Models

Ergonomic Hand Held Test

During this part I observed how my classmates picked up each piece. This provided good insight into how user friendly my pieces were. I collected that my classmates preferred to pick up my pieces from the bottom as it looks to be where the weight is distributed.
